Hog Mollies

Veteran, affectionate slang for the offensive line. In-group, earned.

Also called: hog mollies, hogs

“Hog Mollies” is old-school, affectionate slang for the big bodies up front — the offensive line. It's in-group language: you don't call yourself a Hog Molly, you earn it from the men who've done the dirty work in the trenches. It belongs to the same family of lineman culture words as the Hogs (Washington's famous 1980s line), Bell Cow, and Eat First. LinePlay's whole O-line identity — the Pancake Posse — lives in this tradition.
